Created more than 15 years ago and completed in 2010, this atlas was conceived as a practical visual guide to the use of intraoperative ultrasound in neurosurgery. It combines fundamental technical principles with operative cases and direct correlations between intraoperative ultrasound and MRI, helping neurosurgeons develop the visual language required to interpret ultrasound during surgery.
Although ultrasound technology has continued to evolve, many of the anatomical principles, image patterns, and practical concepts illustrated here remain remarkably relevant. Dedicated atlases of intraoperative neurosurgical ultrasound remain uncommon, and this work is likely one of the few comprehensive examples produced in Spanish.
I am making the complete atlas freely available here, particularly for residents, young neurosurgeons, and programs beginning their learning curve in intraoperative ultrasound.
